Brandegee, K.

She uses the locality name, "Rancheria," no clarifying name, no date, no county.
There are or have been 10,000 rancherias in Cal. [California].
She sometimes used for her own labels the printed labels of T.S. Brandegee, sometimes she failed to strike out "T.S." and substitute "K."
T.S. Brandegee puts down on the label of Cryptantha flaccida the indication, "Colorado Desert," a vast region. His is the only spm. [specimen] of this species in U.C. Hb. [Herbarium] from the Colorado Desert.
But I suspect it is from say, Moreno Valley or some similar locality, which would bring it within the range stated in Fl. Cal., that is intramontaine S. Cal. [Southern California].

She is careless as to names in labeling.
She labels her own specimen of Saniccula bipinnatifida as Sanicula bipinnata H&A.
Labels her own spm. [specimen] of Sanicula bipinnatifida as Sanicula pinnatifida.
