Capsule loculicidal, splitting through the placental axis. Sepals 5, linear, almost distinct. [Corollas drying up because past anthesis and possibly not 2-lipped.] No. 5425. [Malacothrix glabrata] Cichoriaceous. No. 5426. Gilia demissa Gray. [Linanthus demissus] Cor. white with yellow throat, broadly campanulate. Stamens inserted almost at base. Cor. lobes broad & short. All the flower parts glabrous. Plant very fragile and breaking up readily even when green, the invols. thus dispersed by attaching their hooks to objects. Styles nearly as long as ovary.
