No. 5394. Eriogonum pusillum T. & G. Dif. from 5331 which has broad round reniform leaves. Invol. glandular-hispidulose markedly! Per. similarly but very minutely glandular. Leaves elliptic to roundish but more or less tapering at base into the petiole. Per. yellowish, the segs. with a reddish centre. -- Calico Mts. [Perianth yellow, streaked with red, outer segs. narrow-obovate, obtusish, inner similar but narrower (oblanceolate) -- This note in brackets from dried spm.]
No. 5395. Grayia polygalioides. [= G. spinosa] Calico Mts. Fruits deep magenta.
No. 5396. [Streptanthus inflatus Greene.] Caulanthus inflatus Wats. Ben. Heemis of Coolgardie, says: "The Squaw Cabbage makes better greens than spinach". It is very delicate"

No. 5402. Gilia parryae Gray. [Linanthus] Cor. beautiful bluish lilac, the plants very small and the display of flowers on a single plant very wonderful, coloring wide flats in the Calico Wash. Anthers yellow. Crests at throat sub-reniform, as if low-inflated or in relief on throat, dark purple. Stamens insertion at summit of very short tube style branches 3. Calyx-lobes scarious margined broadly, twice length of tube. See 5402a = p. 64.
