27_26 Berkeley, Apr. '13. ---------- fils. slightly puberulous at base. Ovary more or less trigonous, glabrous. - "Eriogonum ursinum venosum, Stokes." A Mt. Silliman plant so labeled by Miss Stokes, coll. by Mrs. Brandegee, is very slender. It does not look like E. ursinum, has glabrous perianths, and - Parry, C.C. Biog. sketch & list of other sketches. West Am. Sci. 7:1. - Redwood. Sequoia sempervirens tree in Col. Freeman's garden, see above vol. 18, p. 56. Measured on 27 Apr. 1913: Height = 37 feet 2 inches Circ. = 3 ft. 4 in. at 1 foot. - Height growth since 1 Dec. '07 = 20 ft. 8 1/2 in. - Circ. " about " " " " 2 ft. 5 in. |

No. 5306 Psoralea physodes Dougl. Corolla dull white. Wings oblong, with acute auricles on upper side. Keel petals purplish tipped, abruptly & somewhat truncately drawn down to claw. Banner elliptic. Calyx-teeth hairy inside. No. 5307. Orthocarpus purpurascens. Benth. No. 5308. Arbutus menziesii Ph. No. 5309. Amorpha californica Nutt. No. 5310. Garrya fremontii Wats. stump sprouts. |
