Corolla with very short tube and much expanded throat, the three lobes of lower lip equal, spreading downward; tips of upper lip recurved. Upper pair of filaments very slightly hairy at base, the lower pair and the style glabrous or essentially so. - Gray makes a great deal of "upper connate-perfoliate leaves"; these in mine hardly sessile. = P. grinnellii Eastw!!
