the non-flowering or bearing branchlets, (i.e. foliage-functioning) are fasciated or bunchy and very "cedar"-like, i.e. cypress-like. Corolla-lobes rather long, recurved, the flowers rather horizontally diverging or tending to diverge from head, the poll. apparatus long exeserted, the stigmatic branches obscurely puberulent. Odor strangely coniferous, taste also, with something else back of it, a strong astringency. Washes. Bush of the erect-spreading chamisal type; rather open.
