tubercles on C. rigidus (but it had practically entire leaves), and also on C. thyrsiflorus. The individual of C. thyrsiflorus was a large one, 15 ft. tall perhaps and the tubercles were found on the smaller roots six feet from the base of the trunk. As a rule the tubercles were not difficult to find. _ see next p. No. 4765. Ceanothus cuneatus (Hook.) Nutt. [rigidus crossed out] but leaves entire! or practically so.
