Big M'd'ws [Meadows], Prattville, 4300 ft.
- An extensive swamp - meadow. The coniferous forest coming right down on the flats to the swamp margin. At the upper end of the meadow rises the bold mass of Mt. Lassen. It is an alpine mass covered with snow, rising sharply and high above the general outline of the peaked range which supports it. It is a fine sight!
