Erythronium
- E. [Erythronium] purpurascens, Leaves not mottled, undulate-margined, of dark metallic green. Flowers very small, light yellow, tinged purple after a few days; higher Sierras, California
Filaments filiform, Sierra Nevada, 4000 ft up, Plumas to Placer Cos. 1 to 8 fls. crowded on a raceme.
- E. [Erythronium] hartwegii. Corms forming offsets freely at the end of filiform [fils] from their base. Sierra Nevada foorhills, Tehama to Amador. Leaves richly mottled; inner petals auricled; style deeply divided after a few days if not on first opening; fls. [flowers] in a sessile umbel and appearing as if each fl. [flower] arose from a scape of its own. Pets. [petals] white or cream with orange or yellow

[Petals] with orange base and often with orange band crossing pets. [petals] above auricles.
