Big Meadows 4400 ft. to Warner 5000 ft. Plumas Co.

- The gravelly floor of the valley of Big Meadows surrounding the swamp area is mostly Jeffrey Pine and Tamrac Pine. From Chester (Olsen's Ranch) where we outfitted with animals the Jeffrey Pine continues in a fine body to Lee's ranch in Warner Valley where we stopped all night. Saw a little Libocedrus decurrens not far from Olsen's at the Indian ranch and a little more comes in between Lee's Ranch and Hot Springs Valley. Populus trichocarpa occurs throughout Big Meadows valley but is most abundant near the upper end, thence continuing up Warner Valley

always along streams. Between Warner Valley and Hot Springs Valley Populus tremuloides appears, a small bunch.

No. 4063. Senecio integerrimus Nutt. var. exalatus (Nutt.) Crong
Radical round leaves often very undulate margined. One plant here, another there, scattered but not rare.
No. 4064. Wyethia mollis Gray. Pine flats, Warner Valley. Covering tens of thousands of acres of the open Pinus Jeffreyi area. Not going up the hill, [?] ordinarily, altho one can scarcely distinguish any difference in conditions. Root
