Nov. 29. Mt. Tamalpais. Yosemite Trip, 1890. See p. 4. [- Washington Flat was one of my collecting stations. It is between Altaville and Murphys Camp on the "Grade Road", 3 mi. from Altaville. When, on this trip, we got into the foot hill towns, villages and placer diggings, I felt as in an enchanted land. Washington Flat was well remembered. With a team of horses and a wagon in which to travel, one could study and enjoy the country well. -- Dec. 31, 1937.] cf. Jesse M. Mayo, 5 Jan., 1938 in litt. [?], who says about 1400 ft. alt. __ My scratch label with Plagiobothrys nothofulvus, no. 21,150, indicates I climbed to Signal Sta., Vaca Mts., via Walker Canon. _ On this date I also collected in Walker Canon near Pine Peak, Vaca Mts. Cf. Mimulus Douglasii in hb. Check by other spms. -- But cf. p. 15, sub May 17. No!! The Walker Canon date is 1892!! See __ above. |
