Breitenbush Bush Hot Springs in same region.
Curry county is the roughest county in Oregon. North of Curry the character of the country changes suddenly. Therefore I do not believe there is any Tan Oak in Coos county. I have cruised all over Coos and I never saw it. Dr. Hayden doesn't know of it in Coos. I doubt if it goes to the Siuslaw River. It is abundant in Curry county -- there is a lot of it. The Garry Oak comes in, in quantity, on the Umpqua and north. Oregon Alder is used with us for making bungs for barrels. The wood is useful for buggy boxes.
