memorandum are as follows:
- Any number of coniferae used in horticultural ornamentation are propagated by cuttings, such as firs and spruces. Apparently these young trees are not as well formed as seedling trees. They call all their firs "spruces", that Abies Nordmanniana is Nordmanniana Spruce. Abies Veitchii is Veitch's Spruce, etc
- Sequoia gigantea with strictly declined or pendulous branches -- very striking for its narrow form.
- Sequoia sempervirens, glaucous forms, quite pronounced, but rigid selection necessary, and

even then showing a tendency to sport back. Mr. Stephens, who showed us about, a graduate of Michigan Agricultural College, said all their Redwood was grafted on Monterey Cypress stock.
- Cedrus atlantica, with short leaves and its var glauca, remarkably different in color. Similarly he had Cedrus Deodara and its var. glauca.
- Cupressus Guadalupensis and its var. glauca, the variety one of the most remarkably handsome things I have ever seen.
- Cupressus Macrocarpa, golden variety, with large yellow blotches on the sprays.
- Lyonothamnus -- they have one
