18_27 August 10, 1907. admiration for that fine main Eel Redwood forest and said he regarded it as one of the wonders of the modern world, like the Grand Canon of Arizona and Yosemite. Only these latter can not be destroyed and it makes one sad to think this forest will be and can never be replaced. - Mrs. Kincaid former prin. Girls High S., San F. went on a botanizing trip with the Brandegees when they were first married, from Ukiah to Westport and down the coast to Mendocino City and back to Ukiah. They had a wagon to carry the specimens but the party walked. Mrs. K. says they were very demonstrative, continually stopping to kiss each other. She would cry to them: My face is set sternly to the front. |
