Moraga Ridge

- No 2983. Quercus agrifolia. Very spiny-leaved small-leaved bush 8 ft. high, head of San Leandro Creek, Oakland Hills.
- No. 2984. Pinus tuberculata. Scattered along the whole length of the Moraga Ridge bushes galore, scattered trees up to 40 feet high and 14 inches in diameter. I find trees fruiting at 1 1/2 feet high, 7 yrs old, 18 circles on a tree 11 ft. high. All the cones in the tree (the one 14 in. diam.) were open up the trunk as high as 8 feet (from 2 feet) Trees or bushes often with 2, 3, or several stems from the base, either branching of axis or again the lateral branches becoming erect,

Shrubs of the Moraga Ridge.
- Castanopsis chrysophylla var. minor, 6 ft. high, bushes as broad or twice as broad as high; leaves trough-like
- Pickeringia montana, 4 ft. h.
- Arctostaphylos Andersonii
- Dendromecon rigidum, 4 ft. high. Leaves very small.
- Adenostoma fasciculatum H. & A. 2 to 6 ft. high.
- Heteromeles arbutifolia.
- Quercus dumosa
- Quercus Wislizenii fruticosa 3 ft. high.
- Vaccinium ovatum, 4-6 ft. high, plentiful, and showy with leaves
