Tan Oak Measurements.
- Tree No. 18. Height = 48 ft. very limby top.
Bark weight = 124 lbs.
Diam. butt. = 9 in at 2 ft.
Age - 48 years. Peeled 16 feet.
- Tree No. 19. Height = 70 1/2 feet. Age 70 years Diam. butt
= 1 ft 1 1/4 in. at 2 1/2 ft. above g. Bark thickness = 1
1/2 in. Bark peeled 36 1/2 feet. Crooked rather short tree.
Weights bark 119 113 101 96 / 429 Total

- Tan Oak is very pernickity about peeling. The men never start on a big tree near the end of the afternoon nor even just before noon hour. A tree had its first rim taken and by reason of interruption the peelers could not finish. The next morning the second rim behaved badly about coming off.
