17_66 Dunlap to Millwood c. 1915 ft. (Fresno Co.) 5100 ft. [May 18, 1907] No Pinus Sabiniana to be seen at all. Hopping says blasting mountain roads kills Sugar Pine a few feet away. Young Sugar Pine is even killed by the jarring of wagons and stage coaches where a tree stands only a few feet from the road in a curve. 17_67 [Dunlap to Millwood] May 18, 1907 resembling lower petals, perhaps better petalody. Flowers pale lilac. Dunlap. The foothills at this altitude are beautiful just now. We camped in a little flat with swelling knolls divided by little swales studded all about with Blue Oak and Manzanita and carpeted with white flowers. No. 2759. Agoseris heterophylla Dunlap.
