"Redwood on hill, Charter Hill, the Bolton stock from Willits taken up and put out in hollow below "C." 378 trees put out. Job begun Feb. 16; finished Feb. 19. Gentle soaking rains on 20, 21, 29, 24 and Mar, 5 and several times in March. Landslide Mar. 23." This note copied from a card which had no year date. Year can be confirmed from newspaper scrapbook clippings, but very surely 1907.

[Berkeley] 1907 Addenda to p. 147. Marble Mt. [Mountain] Going west from Marble Mt. the streams running northerly to the Klamath were on the right and the streams running southwesterly on the left. The 1887 county map of Siskiyou shows Independence Creek cutting straight across our trail from Marble Mt. west to Dutch Henry's on the Klamath. I am certain this is wrong! We followed a ridge, running soon plump into a rock mt. [mountain] or peak on the ridge (which I called "Packer's Mt.") which had Brewer Spruce on east of it. We circumvented this peak to the left. Then finally slanted down the mountain, but not crossing any valleys or canyons to Cudahay Valley. -Supplement to pages 147-150 following. (Written Sept. 1912.)
