Bogg's Mills, 45 % lumber = Yellow Fir, 45% Red Fir (Douglas Fir?) doubtless, 10% Sugar Pine, eastern slope Cobb. Mt. On Elk Mt. % of Sugar Pine = 30. He refers to Tan Oak bark on p. 18. - Timber of Napa Co., in History of Napa Co., p 32. by same author. - A Digger Pine occasionally bears a cone bearing white nuts! So says my brother-in-law Frank Pellet. These are called "richies" and are very oily.

Vallejo addressed a memorial to the Senate of California, Apr. 3, 1850 offering to give 156 acres for a State Capitol and other buildings at Vallejo and _320,000 for Capitol and other state building including _33,000 for a State Universiy and _3000 for a state botanical collection - History of Napa Co., Lyman Palmer, p. 129 (1881). - Heteromeles arbutifolia reaches its greates development in Napa Co!
