He calls Yellow Pine, Yellow Fir. Bogg's Mills, 45 % lumber = Yellow Fir, 45% Red Fir (Douglas Fir?) doubtless, 10% Sugar Pine, eastern slope Cobb. Mt. On Elk Mt. % of Sugar Pine = 30. He refers to Tan Oak bark on p. 18.

- A Digger Pine occasionally bears a cone bearing white nuts! So says my brother-in-law Frank Pellet. These are called "richies" and are very oily.

- Heteromeles arbutifolia reaches its greates development in Napa Co! (on the St. Helena Range.)
