("Plains of the San Joaquin near Stockton and Knight's Ferry.

= Picea Sitchensis. Dr. Henry, who has worked out the matter thoroughly, say the authority for the above should read "Carr." non "Trautv & Meyer" as per Index Kewensis, Sudworth, Sargent, etc. The latter citation appears in Middendorff's Reise, Florula Octotensis 87. Originally published however in 1856 as cf. Trautvetter: Florae Rossicae Fontes. ---------- = Geo. Bentham: -- Baker, J.G. says that Bentham was working here twenty years after he came; fraternized not at all with the people in the Herbarium -- went up to his room and washed there. If he had anything to show he took it to Oliver, the Keeper, with whom only he talked.
