15_188 Berlin, Germany Peduncles 4 to 10 cm. long. 1. Torus rim 2 mm. broad on a fl. past anthesis -- petals fallen. 2. Torus rim on fl. in anthesis rather less than 1 mm. broad. 3. Torus rim on a flower well past anthesis 3 mm. broad. All above on same sheet! 4. Fl. in anthesis rim 2 mm. broad. Receptacle in anthesis 2 to 4 mm. long. Two calyptras, one = 1 cm. long, 5 mm. broad (pressed), acute, the other 9 mm. long, apiculate, 4.5 mm. broad. 15_189 April 22, 1906 Petals fl. No. 1 = 1.7 cm. long (= No. 4. opp. Petals fl. No. 2 = 1.5 cm. " (= No. 2 opp. The glaucous character the foliage is not very obvious. There are a number of smaller buds on the plant but I selected for measurement the two full grown ones. ---------- = "Franseria malvaefolia WGr. Fr. Chamissonis & [?] malvaefolia Lessing. Nova California. St. Francisco. Chamisso (Linnaea, 1831, 507)". The male "spike" is not very dense, 2.2 cm. long. The fruits below look typical of Chamissonis. The leaves are quite Sidalcea or better Sida-like, thick, unequally toothed, the teeth small, and the margin as if somewhat crumpled (flat undulate), deltoid-ovoid, 1.6 cm. long, 1.2 cm. broad, densely white-hairy or ---------- - Die Stern-bild-blume -- Chrysanthemum. |
