on the crowded streets? I asked. They are not "nice" (i.e. they don't belong to "good society" as we know it, they are bourgeoise. They are well or even pleasingly or stylishly dressed, but it is expected if you go out alone without a chaperone or ugly aunt that such things happen. My, it makes me hot.
