= A. circinatum Pursh. Wings horizontal.
= A. Californicum Dietr. (Neg. Calif. T. & G.)
Pax separates this from A. Negundo as follows:
A. Negundo, adult leaves below glabrous or pilose; young
branches most often glabrous, pruinose; style hidden.
A. Californicum, adult leaves densely pubescent below; young
branches pubescent (densely cinerous); style not parted
wholly to the base. (Test out above; I am skeptical.)
= A. grandidentatum. Rocky Mts. Does it come into Oregon?
Sargent refers it as a var. of barbatum, Sudworth of
saccharum.
= A. glabrum Torr. Two vars: var. monophyllum Graf um [?]
Schwerin, which is the var. typicum. and var. tripartitum
(Nutt.) Pax. He (Pax) makes the
