royalty, a beautiful dining room in white, gorgeous servants and most excellent cuisine. Afterwards we went to His Majesty's Theatre, Haymarket, across the street. An amusing play of "frenchy" origin was on; fashion, wealth and fine-looking men were there. The women did not impress me altho the toilets were gorgeous enough and diamonds flashed all over the place.
Next week we go to Scott's, a famous old restaurant at the top of the Haymarket for dinner and then to the Garrick Theatre for the Merchant of Venice.

Callin stern:
"Jim, yer lazy good fer nuthin',
Come and churn."
Paw's callin' from the corn patch
Callin' loud:
James, yer hulkin', stupid loafer,
Time yer plowed."
Nature's callin' from the trout-brook
Callin' whish:
"Son, yer poor tired lazy feller,
Come and fish".
Stranger if we just swapped places
Put it clear
Which of all the three a-callin
Would you hear?
