- Greene, E. L. I know of no other contemporary writer who can give his papers and monographs such an air of authority, assurance and finality as Greene. Compare most any of his writings, but this note is inspired by looking over his Ptelea paper in Contrib. U. S. Nat. Hb. vol. 10, p.49. I have not thoroughly studied his species as yet but certainly his finest writing, his happiest choice of words, his most effective sentences are often those in connection with the most flimsy kind of new species - Aug. 31, 1912.
- Heller, A. A., has on the contrary, at least frequently, an unfortunate. He writes as if he were aggreived or injured.
