come forth, nor could Nuttall be seen. Next to an untruth there is nothing in the world I detest more than the narrow-mindedness we too frequently see even in men who ought to be above such wordly thoughts - to a man of sense who labors not for self but from an honest endeavor to add to the stock of knowledge must of all things feel an inexpressible delight in beholding his fellow man engaged in the same laudable undertaking. I am not suprised that Mr. Nuttall should think the Arkansas and Missouri his own for I have heard from some who had reason to know him that he does not practice
