= Royal Horticultural Society Show Temple, Victoria Embankment. Very fine display of orchids. The Rhododendrons were splendid - some were as delicate and tender and snowy as if they would melt! The colors of the Azaleas were also exquisite! A full lot of Calceolarias of huge size. The foliage plants (Caladiums) made a fine show - I saw huge leaves that were rich and delicate enough for a summer girl's dress. There was little fruit -but a fine display of strawberries - some of them larger than tea-cups. The carnations were huge, the roses not especially noteworthy. Japanese dwarf trees. Collection of shrubs.
