May 20, 1906. known in Boston. Torrey sent him "Contributions" which pleased him and he comments on the Darlingtonia (Sept. 29, 1853). The letters are mainly about Indian botany. His nephew T. J. Booth, a young botanist ahd gone to India and sent to his uncle specimens and seeds. Nuttall seems to have been cultivating Indian plants with great pleasure. Joseph Hooker was at the same time in India and these facts gave further interest to the two men, naturally, in their correspondence Rainhill nr.
