You are so kind as to enquire particularly about my health. Thank you for that interest ad am indeed happy to say that my health at present ad for the past year, never was better!

Dear Sir:-
I am pleased to hear of some more of the fine sps. of Ceanothus of California having arrived in this country as they are well worth cultivation.
Your first sps. allied to dentation seems to me very like what I saw near Monterey in the month of April in flower; the thick branches used as firewood, were often almost one mass of flowers, this I called rigidus, for its stiff leaves and rigid branchlets.
The only duplicate bit of divaricatus I possess I now send; with the only other fragment I have of oliaganthus. C. serpyllifolius and sanguineus I find I do not now
