14_108 Kew Herbarium near the sandy seashore at St. Diego, in Upper California there flowering in April ad May. from some seeds in the dried specimen the present plant has been raised but it has only now flowered in the second summer from germinating as I find it impossible to propagate in any way. it neither takes from cuttings nor layers ad it will not I think produce seeds. it is remarkably glutinous ad produces handsome rose purple flowers with deep yellow anthers. the seed vessel from the dried specimen is sent with it.
