is a certain amount of the garden, especially the lower left (facing glass houses) which is lawn and trees. The Lindens some of them are peculiarly swollen in the trunks five feet (about) above the ground. The Mimosa pudica plant in the Systematic Garden is a fine plant and most extraordinarily sensitive. I never saw anything like it in other sensitive plants. There are several entrances to each plot so that one may miss at first the signs indicating the "schools," so that these notes are random-like, being taken as I wandered through,
