Vaca Mts, via Mix's Canon = Weldon Canon.
- Mix's Canon = Alnus rhombifolia, plenty Fraxinus dipetala in fl. Cynoglossum grande in chamise towards summit in fl. - I have never seen anything that delighted my eye more than the Black Oak shrubs on the summit -- just leafing out -- the leaves an inch or so long. Some are masses of bright crimson, looking like a winter shrub that has dowered itself with spring blossoms Others are purple, the leaves green & colored on the edge, a few mostly light green, but most highly colored and some are accepted favorites
