Spool No. 3- Tanbark peelings at Briceland, [illegible] peeled tree, tree with "try" marks on it, a young standing peeled tree with one rim taken; Tan Oak trunk with long straight healed scar gash. Also log peeled for 66 ft (tree 90 ft. h.); see further measurements on leaf 23. Log 14 in. diam at 5 [?] feet.

Have grown little this season (3 or 4 in), most 3 to 5 ft. h. -- about 750 of them, coming up also from center of hollow stump, fire-burned on one side. 4. Tan Oak sprouts. 5 Ditto, stump 5 1/2' diam. -- all peelings of 1903. No. 5 peeled very low exposing adventitious buds. 6. Ditto 5 same tree. Growth 1-3 ft. h. in last 3 pictures. 7.
