10_175 July 3, 1903. is a smart man but he isn't known for much. He's just Carl Purdy. Well, he has always lived here since he was a boy. He taught school here. Well, one big boy wouldn't mind. Carl saw he meant to defy him. He told him to do the thing and he said he wouldn't. Carl said if he didn't he'd make him. Boy said he couldn't make him. Carl said he would and if he didn't obey he'd give him the worst sort of a licking. Well, they had a fight and the schoolmaster won and gave him a thorough thrashing.
