Lyon's Valley to Ukiah
(Miyakma Range)

- Purdy's Coast Range garden will be in time a most unique affair. At present he has been at work on it only a year. All of the tangle of bushes, etc had to be cleared out but he has already effected a transformation. He has Darlingtonia californica growing in fine style and other rare things. Of course it is especially in the lilies that he excels. He has amassed a most wonderful and exceedingly interesting as well as useful lot of information about the their methods of reproduction. So many have their own peculiar styles and ways of doing business or some slight modification of the plan prevailing in the genus or section.
No. 2244. Same species and locality as 2243.
