Locality Bear Creek Botanical Management Area. On Caltrans right-of-way, south side of Hwy 20, 0.25 mile west of Hwy 20/16 instersection, Colusa Co. milepost 3.00.

HabitatSerpentine prairie (mostly Henneke clay loam soil) that supports 11 native grasses and rich assemblages of Inner Coast Range perennial herbs and annual wildflowers; Bromus hordeaceus and Lolium multiflorum are common non-native grasses; Centaurea solstitialis and Aegilops triuncialis were abundant, but reduced under a management program between 1999-2007.
