HabitatDisturbed road cutting through recovering recently burnt chaparral. Dominant shrubs include Adenostoma, Ceanothus, Chrysothamnus, Rhus, with scattered Quercus and Pinus spp. Herb layer dominated by Bromus tectorum, with Cryptantha, Cordylanthus, Gilia, Elymus.
