Habitat | Fire had burned area in less than 5 years, hillsides were about 80 percent Lotus scoparius, mostly open sunny small canyon between Brand and Idlewood Canyons. Sandy bottom and side of a catch basin. Perennial, 3-4 feet tall, flowers yellow. Associated with: Brassica nigra, Bromus diandrus, B. rubens, Nicotiana glauca, Lotus scoparius, Artemisia californica, Eucrypta chrysanthemifolia, Eriogonum fasciculatum var. foliolosum, E. elongatum, Mimulus aurantiacus, Melica imperfecta, Malosma laurina, Heteromeles arbutifolia, Lupinus bicolor, Solanum douglasii, Cnaphalium californicum, G. bicolor, G. canescens subsp. microcephalum, Marah macrocarpus, Salvia columbariae, S. mellifera, Cerastium glomeratum, Brickellia californica, Sambucus mexicana, Erodium cicutarium, Prunus ilicifolia, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, Senecio flaccidus var. douglasii, Quercus, Sisymbrium, Chenopodium, Isocoma, Mirabilis californica, Ceanothus crassifolius, Pterostegia drymarioides, Toxicodendron diversilobum, Phacelia cicutaria va. hispida, Cercocarpus betuloides, Lessingia filaginifolia, Delphinium cardinale, Lathyrus, and Centaurea. | ||||
