NotesLeslie D. Gottlieb suggests that Arctostaphylos bracteata, A. cinerea, A. oblongifolia, A. strigosa, A. parvifolia and A. pulchella no longer be given taxonomic recognition. Gottlieb states that none of the putative species described by Thomas Jefferson Howell exist as natural populations. Therefore it may be assumed that A. inticata would also fall into synonymy. -Brittonia, Vol. 20, No. 1, Jan. - Mar. 1968, pp. 83-93. Walter Knight June 13, 1983;
