The following three taxa apparently lie within the circumscription of Caulerpa racemosa var. racemosa but have not yet been transferred or reduced to synonymy:
Caulerpa clavifera (Turner) C. Agardh forma remota Svedelius, 1906a: 120–122, fig. 14 (type locality: Galle, Sri Lanka).
