INDIAN OCEAN DISTRIBUTION: Diego Garcia Atoll, India, Indonesia, Iran, Maldives, Mauritius, Nicobar Islands, Pakistan, Qatar, Seychelles, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tanzania.

Note: Australian records of this species have been assigned to Polysiphonia blandii by Womersley (1979: 486). Polysiphonia bharadwajae is included as a synonym on the authority of V. Krishnamurthy & H. Joshi (1970: 26).
