Note: Weber-van Bosse (1913b: 114) first mentioned this species, without a description, in her account of the algae of the Amirante Islands. According to Womersley & R. Norris (1971: 22, footnote), the species, while possibly a member of the Kallymeniaceae, is probably not referable to Polycoelia.
