d Hrusa et al., Madrono 49(2)61-98. 2002: DIST: NCoR, SnFrB: Hrusa et al. Current Status: Naturalized in wildlands: DOC: Alameda Co.: lower end of Strawberry Canyon firetrail, behind UC-Berkeley campus. Nov. 23, 1991, B. Ertter and B. Olson 10891 (UC); loc. cit. Apr. 25, 1974, L.R. Heckard 3679 (JEPS); Albany Hill, uncommon at time of collection but rapidly becoming more abundant. May 20, 1995, B. Ertter 14216 (UC); corner of Hearst Ave. and Gayley Road, UC-Berkeley campus. Apr. 4, 2001, B. Ertter and D. Norris 17574 (UC and to be distributed); Napa Co.: Kroeber Ranch west of Rutherford, in weed-filled meadow. Apr. 25, 1996, B. Ertter and J. Ruygt 14601 (UC): NOTES: Very similar to G. robertianum, but with consistently smaller (< 1 cm long), more uniformly bright pink petals, yellow (vs. orange) anthers, and less anthocyanic foliage overall.
Initial Editorial Comments evidently some further work needed to determine if this is distinct from Geranium robertianum or not; not in Gray Card Index; one record in SMASCH, JEPS73845 (Heckard 3679, in 1974, Strawberry Canyon); according to Source d, in California naturalized in wildlands, in NCoR, SnFrB, although some of the conditions of cited occurrences (e.g.,) seem not to qualify for inclusion in the flora according to criteria employed by Jepson Flora Project (19 Feb 2003)
