Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates, in a note under Stipa, that Stipa tenuissima Trin., with Nassella tenuissima (Trin.) Barkworth as a syn, is included among a list of four taxa that are waifs in CA. [As an active waif, the taxon would have been included in the key to members of the genus, with a description only online; the fact that the taxon was not treated this way suggests that the authors might have considered it to be an historical waif, or they may have had other reasons. It is also possible that the taxon in California is in fact only an agricultural, garden, or urban weed, as previously indicated in this Index, for Nassella tenuissima (Trin.) Barkworth.]
