| Editorial Comments 1 | Correspondence 1 indicates that Sisyrinchium californicum was published in Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, 4: 135-136 (1812), based on Marica californica Ker Gawl. (Botanical Magazine 25: pl. 983. 1807), and that although it is believed that Dryander wrote the account, there is no internal evidence to support that belief, so that the author of the work in which the account appeared (Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, 4: 135-136. 1812), William Townsend Aiton (W.T. Aiton in Authors of Plant Names), is to be credited instead, according to ICBN (2000) Art. 46.6. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Sisyrinchium californicum (Ker Gawl.) W. T. Aiton, from Sisyrinchium californicum (Ker Gawl.) Dryand. previously in this Index, 2 Mar 2006.] | |||||
