Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 9 Nov 2005 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that, according to International Plant Names Index-Index Kewensis, Prunus angustifolia was published in Arbustrum Americanum in 1785 by Humphry Marshall (Marshall in Authors of Plant Names). [Therefore, author citation corrected to Prunus angustifolia Marshall, from Prunus angustifolia Marsh. previously in this Index, 10 Nov 2005.]
Correspondence 2 9 Nov 2005 e-mail from Margriet Wetherwax see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that, according to a pers. comm. from Dieter Wilken, The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1] author, the population on which the record of Prunus angustifolia Marshall from the Santa Barbara region [see Kartesz & Meacham citation] was based (Santa Maria, CA, along Hwy 101 at Clark Ave.) was completely extirpated as of 4 Nov 2005.
Correspondence 3 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by Joseph R. Rohrer see Comment 3
Editorial Comments 3 Correspondence 3 indicates that for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Prunus angustifolia Marshall is not to be included, evidently due to extirpation, as discussed under Correspondence 2.
