Horn in a PhD dissertation in 2000, because the most recent version of ICBN [Vienna Code] includes an example (Art. 30.5, Example 10) like this that does not meet the requirements of effective publication, because a search revealed no other possible places of publication, and because it is not listed in International Plant Names Index or TROPICOS. | |

[Therefore, this taxon will have to be treated in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] under the only name available for it in Plagiobothrys, Plagiobothrys verrucosus (Phil.) I.M. Johnst..
