Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 8 Mar 2006 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Mimulus pictus was published by Asa Gray (A. Gray in Authors of Plant Names) in Synoptical Flora of North America 2(1, Suppl.): 446. 1886, based on Eunanus pictus, published by Edward Lee Greene (Greene in Authors of Plant Names) in Bulletin of the California Academy of Sciences 1(3): 106. 1885, wherein Greene ascribed the name but not the description to "Curran in herb" referring to Mary Katherine Curran (Curran in Authors of Plant Names). [Therefore, author citation expanded to Mimulus pictus (Curran ex Greene) A. Gray, from Mimulus pictus (Greene) A. Gray previously in this Index, 8 Mar 2006.]
Correspondence 2 Treatment and author notes submitted since The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that since The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Mimulus pictus (Curran ex Greene) A. Gray is to be treated as Diplacus pictus (Curran ex Greene) G.L. Nesom.
