Nutt." and indicated it was based on Cantua pungens Torr. (Annals of the Lyceum of Natural History of New York 2:221. 1826), and that the inclusion of Nuttall (Journal of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia ser. 2, 1:157. 1848) in the author citation in the manner indicated by Kartesz & Meacham and International Plant Names Index-Gray Card Index is incorrect since Nuttall merely included "L. pungens of Torrey" in a comment in the protologue of Leptodactylon caespitosum. [Therefore, author citation expanded to Leptodactylon pungens (Torr.) Nutt. ex Rydb., from Leptodactylon pungens (Torr.) Rydb. previously in this Index, 6 Nov 2006.] | |||||
