Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 14 May 2003 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that T. L. Mitchell, (Journal of an Expedition to the Interior of Tropical Australia, 339. 1848) mentioned the name Eucalyptus sideroxylon and ascribed it to A. Cunn., but provided no description, and that the earliest validating description or diagnosis appears to be that of Woolls (Proc. Linn. Soc. N. S. Wales, 11:859-860.1887), who also ascribed the name to A. Cunn. [Author citation corrected to Eucalyptus sideroxylon A. Cunn. ex Woolls, from Eucalyptus sideroxylon A. Cunn. originally in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1] and this Index, 30 May 2003]
